You will need determine if the motherboard can support the SCSI card you are using. Many new SCSI cards are not supported by older motherboards. Also, the fact that the error message is in reference to BIOS, this is also most likely pointing to themotherboard; however, you may be able to upgrade the BIOS version on the motherboard. Check the BIOS version you have with the available versions for your motherboard, also check to see if any of the upgraded BIOS versions make reference to any SCSI issues, and update if available. You may also look at the SCSI drivers, make sure that they are correct for the operating system, the SCSI card, and the device you are using.

I am not sure what type of machine or OS you are running, but I found a good site from Gateway that lists some good info. on SCSI Users Guide.

More info in reference to the int13 portion of the BIOS error message:

INT13 - A basic BIOS subroutine that controls the function and configuration of the hard disk drive. Continued reliance on the unchanged INT13 routine inherently creates certain hard drive limiting factors, including a problem with more than two hard drives and BIOS/OS limits to recognizing more than 1024 cylinders, 16 heads, and 63 sectors per track. This creates the so called 504 MB barrier since a sector holds only 512bytes. As calculated:

1024 (Cylinders) X 16 (Heads) X 63 (Sectors/Track) X 512 (Bytes/Sector) = 528,482,304 Bytes

The URL above for Gateway does not have any spaces between the numbers, be sure to remove the space before connecting to the site.

The BIOS not installed Int 13th device error simply indicates that you do not have a hard drive on the scsi card, they are the only things that require the Int 13. Tape drives and cd's will not load the scsi bios. As far as not being able to burn, does your software recongize the burner? Most of the burning software (you did not indicate which package you are useing) may require updates from the manufactors website to update it to see the scsi burner. I have used many scsi burners and they work just fine if all updates and patches are inplace. Also check and see if the burning software requires the dos level drivers (comes with the Adaptec card) loaded to access the drive as a burner.

Good luck, if you can give me more specifics, Iwill try to point you further in the right direction.
