NT4 automatically mapping drives.

We find that on a NT4 workstation machine that If a Network drive is mapped. throughout the day extra letters are mapped to the same drive eg
f: server1\K
g: server1\K
etc

I have seen this problem before and here is how we resolved it: Do you use MS Office? If so...
Remove Find fast from the Startup folder(s). Also go into Control Panel/Find Fast and stop/delete the index.

Check the client that you are using on the workstation. Some of the client software had bug issues with mapping drives. When running a mixed Netware and NT environment which is your primary client the Microsoft client for Novell or the Novell clientfor Novell? This might make a difference. Novell has fixed a number of bugs that Microsoft has not and Microsoft has fixed bugs in their client that Novell has not. Wish the two vendors would work together so we can all move forward with a great networking environment.
