paper tearing in the middle of page

I am a computer servicer & have a Epson stylus color 777 series printer in the shop with the following problem.When printing out a document the printer paper starts to load into the printer & the right side of the paper feeds downward at a sharp right angle causing the paper to twist & tear vertically right down the middle of the page from bottom to top.Please help me resolve this problem. THANK YOU

I'm not familiar with Epson printers but would suggest you look into the following.

Check for obstructions in the paper feed path.

Check the feed roller(s)or tyre(s) for wear. If the tyre is of the non treaded type, its possible that it may befitted the wrong way. (Some photocopier pickup tyres have microscopic single direction tread).

Check that that the downforce of the pickup assembly is sufficient and even enough.

Check that any skives are corectly fitted and not broken. (The skives are designed to direct the paper , but if damaged can actually penetrate the paper as it passes)
