015F:BFF72911 Fatal Exception

By PENGUINSRULE ·
I've been getting a number of 015F:BFF72911 fatal exception blue screens and I'm trying to troubleshoot what may be going on. I'm trying to check through the typical things to look for.
The only change is a new CD rom a few weeks back. I'm not quite sure if that's the problem or not. How do I check for a problem. I didn't see any problems in device manager.
?

Thanks

1.swap the RAM and chek
2.run scandisk on your hard disk
3.scan for any virus

90% of the blue screens i observed are due to the above

Try removing your new cdrom and see if you continue getting the error. If you do not then check for updated drivers from the manufacturer and reinstall it. If the problem goes away when the drive is removed then it would appear to be a driver conflict of some type.

I have run scandisk a number of times. I'm not able to even load any of the anti-virus cd's and I can't get to the symantec site, but I can get to other sites.
I'm still plugging away at this.

Well, the problem went away when I removed the CD drive. Any idea how I should install the CD drive/drivers so that it will work?
Thanks

Hi,
Fatal Exception errors can be caused by numerous things. Hardware, drivers, corrupt files , resource conflicts and so on.

Since you recently installed a CDROM open the box and check for anything that may of came loose etc. Especially the CPU fan.

Please include the entire message. There is usually another code that goes with fatal exception errors. It will be something like,
"Fatal Exception OD or OE etc." at the address you've included.

Protecting your PC from viruses should be a priority. Most of the time it's too late before people realize how important this is. You can create a bootable virus scan disk on another PC if abvailable. Write protect the disk and run the scan on your system.
