Hi,
I’ve got this portable with integrated network card. I’ve also got 1 docking station on site A & another identical docking station on site B (each with a network card).
As soon as I ‘dock’ my portable, the internal NIC is disabled, which is fine(I configured it that way).
Each site (A & B) have different IP ranges (say range A and range B), and I have a fixed (NO dhcp) IP address for each site,
How can I configure it that when I dock my portable in docking station A that I automatically have the correct A ipaddress, and vice versa if I dock in B that I get IP B?
Remark:
– no I can’t use dhcp (doesn’t matter even in this problem)
– currently, if I configure the NIC of the docking to IP A, and I move my portable to docking B, I still have IP A, which of course doesn’t work… (just to make the situation clear)
– no I don’t want to put the network cable in the internal NIC of the portable (I wouldn’t need a docking station if I would be doing that)
– 3rd party utility can be acceptable, but only as last resort.
TNX A LOT FOR YOUR HELP.
