16 Bit MS-Dos Subsystem

Hi, when i try to run an application it gives me the following error : c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. Please can anyone assit me with this problem - thank you very much

Sorry guys - i have fixed the problem... the autoexec.nt file goes missing after you install sp2

BASED ON MY INITIAL REQUEST, IF THE AUTOEXEC.NT FILE GOES MISSING AFTER INSTALLING THE SERVICE PACK 2., HOW DO I GO ABOUT RETRIEVING THIS AND SOLVING THE PROBLEM STEP BY STEP. WILL APPRECIATE YOU FEEDBACK. THANKS.

HI,

If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP then follow these steps:
1) Right click on my computer->properties->advanced->environment varilables->user variables for windows->you will two varilables there TEMP and TMP
2) Change the path of TMP variable to C:\winnt\temp -> Click OK
Try to run your 16 bit program u won't get error message.

C:/winnt/temp is for windows 2000 and what is the directory for Windows XP ???
