Hello,
I installed 1GB Kingston DDR400 Ram into my A-bit AV8 3rd eye Motherboard which originally had 2 X 256MB Gel DDr400 RAM. After the upgrade one of the 256MB sticks of RAM would not be detected by Windows and I can only now use 1.25GB of my physically install 1.5GB
A friend suggested that maybe it has something to do with double sided and single sided RAM sticks (which i have no idea what it is)
My Motherboard supports Dual channelling and my physical layout is:
Channel 1: Slot 1 / Slot 2
Channel 2: Slot 3 / Slot 4
Slot 1 = 256MB
Slot 2 = 256MB
Slot 3 = 1GB
Slot 4 = Empty
Thanks oh so much, I’ve doubled Google’s revenue today and gave myself a headache
