Yes, but only if you have a multyhomed computer. You can assign a static IP for one of the netcards and let the other to get IP from the DHCP server.

It is possible to set up two IP addresses for one NIC, although that can get complicated. The easiest thing to do is add a second NIC. This will allow you to do what you want. Now there is a very important thing to know about multihomed systemsyou need to be aware of. You can set up different gateways for each interface, but it is recommended that you only assign a gateway to one. If the NICs are on different networks, you may need to add a static routing entry to get to other networks.

Sa recommanded in the first article:

Note 2:
If you need to use DHCP for one of you IP addresses, set the adapter up
first to use DHCP as normal. Follow the all the steps listed above and
append the "0.0.0.0" with the fixed IP address you wish to assign to it.
(ie. "0.0.0.0,169.254.254.1" )

Hi
I did not mention in my answer (2 NICs) if you read my answer you will see it is simple in win 2k.

In the Network-Properties, Tab: "Protocols", "Properties" of the "TCP/IP-protocol":
set the adapter up first to use DHCP click advance -> click add then just add your fixed one. that is it.

Gooooooooooooooooooooood luck
