2 network cards on Win2k server

I have a win2k server with 2 network. ip address is let say, 192.168.0.1 and 192.18.0.2

Now my dns and wins is on 192.168.0.2. it it possible to set it to 192.168.0.1??

Yes, should not be a problem, but depends on the purpose of the network card usage. Get more details to help u answer better.

I think all you need to do is just not fill in the DNS and/or WINS info for the NIC you don't want to register in DNS and/or WINS.
So, if the IP address info is statically assigned for both NICs, then remove the DNS/WINS information on the NIC you don't want to be registered.

IF IP assignment is being done dynamically using DHCP, then make 2 Reservations in the DHCP scope, one for each NIC on this machine. On the 2nd NIC Reservation, don't put in DNS and/or WINS info.

i mean whenever i disable the nic ip 192.168.0.2, the wins and dns will be 192.168.0.1. But when i enable the nic with ip 192.168.0.2, it will changed the wins and dns to 192.168.0.2??

Why is it so?? how to configure it to make it 192.168.0.1??
