2 providers on 1 pc each for different things

    by pene174 ·

Hey, I have 2 internet providers at my home, I would like to combine them both to my PC and set up each of them for different things.

The main one I want to have for gaming for example
and the second one to have for download/upload in google chrome and streaming to twitch for example.

There are 2 options that I can make:

    1. Buy an ethernet adapter (1 male 2 female) to have both providers plugged to the PC

    2. Have 1 provider plugged to the PC and plug the other one through tethering.

Is it possible to do this and if so how? I am happy to do each of the 2 options i mentioned if any of you are able to help me

      Select based on target

      Neither will work.
You will need 2 LAN cards – may be wired, wifi, USB dongle….. does’nt matter.
You can route your traffic to either LAN based on the IP address.
“NetSetMan” is one such free application that does this.
The catch is that you must know the IP address of the different sites. The net can give you the IP addresses given the name of the site.

It would be far easier to have two different computers and each one connected to a different internet provider.

This looks to be the answer.

Setting up Windows to switch which network to use for each use is simply a nightmare.

-> We would be guessing the OP above wanted to stream their gameplay (they didn’t say) but the old setup still works where a second PC with the usual HDMI Video Capture card does the Twitch thing.

        Why? Game Performance.
