I have 2 computer connected through a wireless network. One works fine the other one has some issues with XP. One of the problems is that my System Restore Tool comes up with a blank screen.
Question 1: Can I run the System restore tool from my good computer through the command line (run: networkdrive/(c)\WINDOWS\system32\Restore\rstrui.exe) and will it then restore the messed up computer? Or would it restore the good computer with the setting of the other one?
Question 2: I read about the manual restore, but I always run into the problem, that I can’t rename the existing files in the config. Error message: Can’t change, because the file is in use. How can I find out what is using the config files, so I would be able to shut it down?
