2000 Pro won’t authenticate
LockedHere is the skinny: 2000 Pro on a NT domain. It is running IIS and has a DNS record as pc.domain.com The user goes away and everything is fine for a week. Well today I needed to log on to it and I get a No Domain Controller available error. I can’t PING it, although everything resolves, DNS, NSLOOKUP and WINS.
I sometimes get a no DC available, sometimes I get a make sure password is correct blah blah.
In Event viewer I get a:
Event Source: NETLOGON
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5722Date: 1/21/2002
Time: 1:44:55 PM
User: N/A
Computer: MARKET
Description:
The session setup from the computer WORKSTATION failed to authenticate. The name of the account referenced in the security database is WORKSTATION$. The following error occurred:
Access is denied.
Also, it was, past tense, at least showing up in network neighborhood, now no more. I tried a different patch cord, jack and switch port.
It has a link light.TIA
