2000 server to 2003 server

By hemuli ·
I am going to replace my old 2000 server ( = DC )
( both hardware and software )
with a new 2003 server.
The server is basic, just file and print services.
No Exchange or any SQL-stuff.
What is your suggestion to be the easiest way to
transfer all user configuration ( =AD )data and shared data folders to the new server. I would not like to to do much work at workstations. ( DCpromo ? )
I am not an expert so please give your comments
as comprehensive as possible.
Thanks in advance

Make the 2003 server a member of the current 2000 domain, and dcpromo after all the preparations. I want to know if this can be done while users are working?

Add the 2003 server to the domain as a DC after it replicates you can take the 200 server off the network or leave it on for Redundance
