I just set up a test lab running win 2003 svr and win xp pro. My Domain is set to Techs.com on the svr. On xp pro i joined the domain fine under the same name Techs.com, everything is working fine. Now one of my coworkers changed something where the dropdown box at the login says Techs02 to login to the domain and it still logs in from xp to the svr, But when i check the properties under My computer the domain on the xp & the svr machine still say Techs.com. I was under the impression that the login name and the domain name has to be Identical. My question is why am i still able to login without an error, I just want to know why im still able to login.
