2019 Macbook Pro external display configuration

    by ctshiner ·

    Hi all,

Just got my first mac ever through work after using a PC for development for 10+ years. As you can imagine I had a very fined tuned set up that I am struggling to reproduce on the mac.

So today’s question is: is it possible to set a “centered” non-native resolution? I use a 43 inch 4K tv as my main monitor, but using the full screen is too much. On Windows I set my resolution to 3200×1800, which I can do on the Mac fine, and then hit the “center display” or toggled off a “stretch” option so it did not scale back up to fill the entire screen. I had black border on the screen, but maintained 1×1 pixel mapping for crisp text and achieved my goal of a physically smaller screen. Can this centering of a smaller resolution be done on the mac?

    Thanks
