    2k8 HP G7 blade server Data array size increase?

    I’m working with a new G7 blade server and the client has decided (post-build) that the Raid5 array (with hot-swap) overall size will be to small to cover expansion ratios. I am currently looking for a safe and effective way to change these drives without having to reload the information, as there is over 600G currently in use, to a larger yeild.
    I have read elsewhere that I should be able to replace each drive individually rebuilding each time to increase the overall size and then running diskpart to increase the usable volume after the array has been changed out. Is this my best bet or is there a faster/safer way to achieve my goal.

      Replace each drive one at a time and rebuild the array after each drive has been replaced.

      They using your preferred Partitioning Utility Resize the Partition to the full size of the available Drives or what you want.

      If you screw things up you still have the original drives to recover from though personally I would still keep a full backup as Plain Data. After all it’s better to be safe than sorry. 😉
