2KTS backgroud blue

By jodyc ·
Hi, Does anyone know how to change the backgroud of the login screen to black? I did a right click on the desktop and went down to properties and changed my desktop to black but the login screen still comes up blue. How can I change that screen.
P.S. I believe it has something to do with Active Destop but I am unable to find a way to shut it off.

Comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jody

When you change the color scheme and appearance of your desktop it does not change the background color of the logon screen to match. This tweak allows you to change that color as well.

Open your registry and find the key below.
Key: [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors]
Value Name: Background
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: 0 0 0 - 255 255 255

Modify the value named 'Background' according to the color you would like in RGB (Red/Green/Blue) format. For example, "0 0 0" for black or "255 255 255" for white, and every other color in between.

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
