Question

Locked

3 monitors

By psabatino ·
I ordered an HP desktop a while back - I upgraded to an NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS card to run dual monitors. Everything works great, but I'd like to add a 3rd monitor into the mix...

On the back of the tower, there is a 3rd VGA port.

I've connected my 3rd monitor to said VGA port, but the monitor is not detected.

Any helpful hints???

Yes that is correct

The On Board Video gets disabled when a Plug In Video Card is used.

if you want to use more than the current number of monitors you need a Monitor setup like this

http://www.samsung .com/hk_en/consumer/computer-peripherals/monitors/consumer/LS23MUQHB/XT?subsubtype=md-series
remember to remove the space from between samsung and the .com for a working link.

Or a Video Card with 3 Outputs or a Splitter for one of the existing Outputs. Though with the last option you will get the same display on 2 screens.

You can buy USB devices that provide an extra monitor

I think these devices are essentially mini video cards, but we have several people in our office using them, and they work great.

Also, make sure the internal video is turned on in the BIOS.
