If your processor supports it

You cannot "increase" your computer to 64 bit.
If your processor supports 64 bit computing you can remove your 32 operating system and applications and install a 64 bit version instead.
However you should be aware that if you do this any 32 bit applications you have will not work and will need to be replaced with 64 bit software.
It seems to me that Mr Microsoft is about to try and push us all down the road of 64 bit computing any minute now so there's every reason to do it if you can I suppose.

Yes

If you have purchase a new computer recently!

If so, you need to puchase a 64 Bit version of the operating system.

My knowledge of computer architecture is great, however, most applicatons are still written in 32 Bit, so that is all they will run at.

Complete waste of time unless you have a motherboard capable of running greater than 3+ GB of RAM and a specific application that will run at 64 Bit or one that benefits from runningbetween 4 & 32 GB of RAM
