32-Bit Vs 64-Bit, AMD Turion 64 x2 Vs Intel

I am going to buy a Laptop and wondering about the technologies…

I read lot positive stuffs for AMD that it supports 32-bit and 64-bit. I want your help to know that if I have AMD turion 64 x2 (it’s 64-bit, also works for 32-bit) and I install Win XP SP2, will other softwares like, MSSQL 2000/2005, .net2003/2005, PHP, MySql, Apache, SQLyog work well. I am ready to compromize upto some extent for such softwares to be working excellent but they should be workable upto some extent…!
