32,000 characters in Excel 97/2000 cell

by brucelloyd1 . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

When Excel 97 was introduced in Jan 1997, one of the big enhancements was the number of characters that each cell could contain. It changed from 256 to 32,000. However, I’ve never been able to get more than about 1024 characters in a cell. Same limit encountered in Excel 2000. Will this be fixed in Office 10?
