3dlabs wildcat agp/pci card

By jwbarrios ·
I have a compaq sp750 server, with an 3dlabs wildcat 4210 viedo card that takes up an agp and a pci slot on the mother board. when i boot up when the video driver loads the monitor "sleeps". however, the pc still runs. I have updated the drivers, flashed the bios. checked all wires, power and all of the obvious stuff .... any suggestions ?

In the BIOS there should be a setting which tells the computer whether to boot of the PCI video card or the AGP video card.

Try changing this

Most new systems on the market come equipped with a single AGP slot and several PCI slots. If you system is equipped with AGP, simply install a PCI card. However, before you can configure that card, check to see how your system BIOS controls video. Most systems have a tendency to find and configure a PCI card before configuring AGP. You will need to check the BIOS in order to make sure the AGP slot is selected as primary. Chances are it already is, but check anyway. In this way the PCI card will automatically be configured as secondary. Make sure your secondary monitor is connected to this card.
