Hi there !!!!

There is something known as default user for every Windows NT workstation....You need to install Printer driver for this user....which will be automatically available for all the users.

If you need help in config of default user please do let me know.

All the best...

Here is what you do. log on as the Administrator, either the local machine, or the network, just as long as you have admin privledges. Add a printer, and select "MY COMPUTER" and chose "Add Port". Next doubleclick "Local", type the path name print sever, and printer name (\\printserver\printername). Click "OK". If the path is good there will be no error, click "CLOSE", than "OK". You should be back at the "ADD PRINTER WIZARD" window. Click "Next" and install the drivers as normal. If you are notusing a network ready printer (Drivers made for networks) let me know and I will tell you how to do that as well.

The printer settings are machine specific, not user specific.
If you log in as local or domain administrator and set up one printer it should function the same for any other domain user that logs into the workstation. (provided you have assigned proper security permissions to the printer driver itself for the appropriate domain users/groups to access the printer)
Double check the permissions.

The following will work, assuming that the users do not have a profile set up which they want to keep.

Log onto a workstation as an Admin user, Set up the printer and all of it's correct settings.

Through System Properties, User Profiles, select the administrator profile you are using and then copy. Browse the directory to %systemroot%\profiles\default user and copy it there.

If the users have profiles listed in the profile list, then delete them (provided you know that they do notneed to keep any settings already in their profile, or items on their desktop etc). If you use roaming profiles, then you will need to kill the profile on the server also - although NT will detect the later profile date, is good practice to remove the server copy also.

When the user logs on, they will now get a copy of the new profile, including the new printer.

If you don't want to delete the existing profiles, then I would suggest using a WSH script to install the printer for each useras they logon, the o
