60 GB External hard Drive showing 0 gb

by pbobo1 . Updated 16 years, 7 months ago

I recentaly purchased a Seagate 60 gb Momentus 5400.2 2.5 Inch SATA laptop hard drive, and a 2.5 inch SATA external Case for the drive. The external case uses a USB cable to connect the drive to the computer.

When I hook the drive to the computer via the bus it will show that the drive is in place, but it shows that it is empty. When I try to format the drive it says “Please insert a disk into Drive X”

Any help would be appriciated.

Edit: I am running Windows XP on a Toshiba Laptop.
