64-Bit Wireless Broadband

by wildbean1 . Updated 17 years ago

I live in Australia and recently purchased a HP Laptop DV9000 series with Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit pre-installed in March ’07. At that time, I was not concerned about broadband as I had dialup at home. I now find myself wanting to get wireless broadband on it and I’m having great difficulties finding a way of achieving this goal. Has anyone any ideas, or if they know of any technology which may help me to solve this continuing problem. Has any companies actually made a wireless device to suit a 64-bit system? I know bigpond in Australia is thinking about developing a wireless network card at present and they are testing them, but how long this will take for them to have a functional device is unknown. I’m interested in gaining feedback on this topic, as I like the versatility of this operating system and unit, but not the lack of products to suit it. Is this 64-bit version just another fad or will companies actually supply the products to suit the system in the near future?
