64bit xp Netmeeting problems

By kentontator ·

While using netmeeting on a 64bit machine any time I try to send any video or do anything that involves displaying my web cam netmeeting instantly closes.

it has no trouble receiving calls and viewing other peoples camera's if they are 32 bit machines. The 64 bit camera's do not display any video(tried on two different 64 bit machines)

the camera's do however work and display video when using the software that comes with the web cam.

if there is another free software out there that I could try that would be great for desktop video conferencing.

netmeeting's hooks

by jck In reply to 64bit xp Netmeeting probl ...

Maybe it's hooked into a default 32-bit driver, and that's doing bitwise madness.

See if there's a setting or registry entry that you can define the video source to be what the preloaded webcam software uses.

Otherwise, all i could suggest is checking with netmeeting about making sure the driver reference is proper.

As for other software, there's always IM programs that have free voice/video now.

looking at the registry now, thanks for some ideas. I guess if all else fails I will look at AIM or msn or something
