Our college runs the Building Automation System on a Windows 95 (?!) host and communications with 8 PLC’s using 8-bit Arcnet cards (from Thomas Conrad). We want to upgrade the BAS software to a newer version that requires Windows NT or XP, but the PLC’s are hard-wired for 8-bit Arcnet. Is there such a thing as an Ethernet/Arcnet converter ? Are there (on this planet) NT/XP drivers available for 8-bit Arcnet ? Figure this one out, and you’ll be eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize !
