Ok, since I am having great luck with the one question I’ve asked so far I thought I’d give this one a run here. I’m looking to upgrade my current video from the onboard to something for modern games, like Tabula Rasa.
I’ve doen some shopping and reading reviews, but I’m not tech savvy enough to crunch the numbers on which of these will do me the best. I’m between an EVGA 8600gt 512mb or an EVGA 8600gts 256mb. My system is an Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2ghz, 2.5gig pc3200 generic RAM. I’m upgrading to a 400w power supply to handle either card better, but I’m just not sure which one is better here.
Is this a case of more video memory is better, or am I better off with the faster processor and memory speed? Appreciate your thoughts and guidance
