is there anyway to transfer my 8mm video to the computer and burn on cd?

Greetings,

Yes there is, but there will be a cost involved. There is some software available, and I've posted a couple of links for you to cut and paste. (REMOVE SPACES from the pasted URLs if they snuck in.) You may also have to add some hardware (You didn't mention what you have.)

Get a cheap video capture card and www.winvcr.com (or use the software that came with the video capture card) and then save the 8mm to the comptuer as a MPG file and then save that to cd.
