General discussion

I worked on a system that had Windows 98 Plus installed. The only difference I saw between it and 98SE was the splash screen.[very pretty] I didn't want to start pokin' around to satisfy my curiosity because I was in the users home.

So, what are the differences between 98 plus and SE?

98 Plus is an add-on pack for Win 98 and Win 98SE that includes additional games (including Spider Solitaire), compressed folder support (zip files), additional themes, photo editing software, and McAfee AV. I may have forgotten some, but you get the idea.

In other words, OS is the same but 98 Plus splash screen appears on startup.

Some vendors included Plus Pack with systems [could be purchased on same CD with Win 98(SE)]. Plus packs are also sold separately. One is available for Win XP.
