A current answer for Norton Commander.

By mikellbne ·
I loved NC for Dos and followed Norton to the windows version, NC2.0 I believe, and felt betrayed when Norton Commander was abandoned by Symantec. I kept looking for new file managers, like an improvement on the old NC for Dos, VC, and a few others, but eventually was gratified to discover the most excellent replacement (notice I didn't say clone because it is way better then NC2.0), Total Commander, along with all its wildly varied addons. This is really as good as it gets and there is simply no other comparable file manager, especially not the hapless Windoze Explorer. Kudos to Christian Ghisler.
