a fatal exception error

I have dell inspiron 3200,laptop.When enabling
audio in the BIOS setup program windows 98 cannot load and sometimes it displays a messege

“A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C0052A02 in VXD VPICD(01) = 00001EC2. The current application will be terminated.
Could you please help me this problem cause I don’t have sound in my laptop
