A O Hell

Ok guys I know someone out there knows the answer to this.
My client has broadband internet with AOL, a recent upgrade of AOL software left him unable to connect to the internet via his USB modem. So I removed the AOL software from the PC and manually configured the modem connection.
All is well except that when the client tries to access AOL web mail he gets that crappy service unavailable please try later message.
I have been able to access the same account from another pc with a different internet connection without a problem.
So my question is does AOL prevent its customers from accessing web mail when they are connected to the internet through their own AOL connection from their own computer?
