a very high network traffic

dear all
i have a very high network traffic on my network generated from a specific ip (PC). i have 2000 server and xp clients. the server and my pc only have windows-service pack for the windows-sercurity update from micorsoft site. the traffic hang my internet connection line. so, i can not access the internet or any my server outside egypt as well i connected to them using leased
line. all my PC (server and PC) contain all update for microsoft patches, norton co-orpate edition. the pc which generate the traffic
has no unexpected service or program running. i check the virus.
could u help me.

You mighe need to put a sniffer on that part of your network and see where the traffic is going to. It is possible that the card could be bad. If your network is a switched network then you might need to do port mirroring on your switch so you can see all traffic for that device.

He is right, get a sniffer to find out what machine is causing the traffic and what type of traffic is being generated. It may even be spyware or malware in that case.
