A wierd one

OK here is the scenario, Three NT Servers, 60 in-house users, about 80 remote users coming through a bay networks RAS box. Clients are a mix of NT and 2000.

The issue is, we changed IP ranges and we changed Server IP addresses. Since then we havebeen finding duplicates of our servers in the wins database and it requires a restart of the Server Service on the relevant server. We found this to be an error with remote users dialing into our network whilst still configured with the old DNS and WINS settings. We have also found that by removing the LMhosts entries that refer to our old server ip’s and by removing all the old DNS and WINS settings that this error is corected.
But I still don’t understand why it is happening to begin with and that is why I am here?

Any thoughts people?
