We have a NW5.1 Server with the NFS gateway running. We have just started getting a few abends, any ideas as to what is causing this?

You may have developed bad memory. No very likely but possible based on the above information.

Was the server shutdown correctly or did someone power this off and then realize what they have done. It may be a corrupted NLM.

Since this is theNFS gateway, did you check the disk for a corrupted NFS node? You'll need to run vrepair. Copy vrepair and all required modules to the c:\nwserver directory or whereever netware loads from. Add c:\nwserver to the search path on the console. Ensure all users are removed from the server. Then type disable logon. This will keep users from trying to connect until you are ready to let them back into the system. Dismount the volume with NFS loaded, then type load c:\nwserver\vrepair.

Followthe menu from top to bottom and have it repair all issues. Be sure to set it to repair without prompting or you'll have to sit there while it runs.

The only other issue might be with the way you are mapping UNIX file names to NetWare file names. Look for the TID at novell.
