Dear All,
Please lead me / give me sources materials to setup DNS server. I have setup Win2K network and I want to host my domain name which is now hosted by the ISP. What I should do for our domain kept by us? How to make our DNS server could be view(ping) by the public? We got public IPs.
Thanks in advance, any help is apprecated!

One way to host your own domain is to install Active Directory. Using any win2k server product run dcpromo.exe from the run line. it will setup active directory and DNS automatically. It is completely wizard based, so very simple to install. You're probably best off outsorcing both DNS servers. Internic requires you to have 2 name servers. A cheap way out is granitecanyon.com. It's a free public DNS service providing primary & secondary name servers. email me and I'll make your zone filefor you. once set up you will have 1 DNS server seving your internal clients and granite canyon pointing at you. Good luck

I suggest you downloading the MS white paper in DNS. There is not enough space to explain here how it all works. Then buy yourself a book on how to setup/admin dns. Theres a few good resources on DNS in the MS site.
