about information technology

by dbarker In reply to about information technol ...

as a general rule:
Information Technology has to do with the nuts and bolts of the systems. This means hands-on working with the equipment and administration of the systems.

Computer Science is the road to programming.

Computer Engineering is the road to designing the hardware and infrastructure.

All schools mix and match courses to meet their needs so there is a lot of overlap.

The best thing to do is to go to the guidance/placement department and talk to them. They can give you an idea of what you will be able to accomplish and where the graduates are being placed.

Your biggest question should be: where do I want to be in 10 years. In charge of a group of technicians, programmers, or engineers?

good luck
