hi,
i had installed win98 on one partition and win2000 on other partition of the h.d.d. now i have formatted the partition of win2000 and still it asks me which o.s. you want to start during the booting process. how can i get rid of that booting options screen during the booting.

If I understand correct in this moment you have only Win98. Make a startup diskette for Win98 and add on it sys.com. Boot your computer with this startup diskette and from <a:> run <sys c:>.

Go to start: Settings:controlpanel: add remove programs, and click uninstall windows 98, unless you have deleted the uninstall information. You don't need 2 operating systems. Good luck, Jesse

Here's the MS article. It mentions W95, but W98 works the same.

You can also simply edit the W2K option out of the boot.ini file.

For details on the commands in boot.ini look at the dual boot page at www.systemsinternals.com

You can also search Microsofts site for boot.ini and bootcfg
