About Shares in Windows 2000

These are known as "Administrative Shares" and almost invariably admins are recommended to remove them as they pose a security risk.

Take a look here:

http://www.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/webhosting/HowTo/P117743.asp

(delete any spaces in the URLs)

What you should do is create shares and assign them only the permissions they require.

Good luck...hope this helps!
