By ask_anurag ·
Hi,
I have Dlink USB Modem Model No. DU-560M and I have installed this on Windows ME.When I connect to the internet my computer hangs and I have installed the latest driver,I updated my USB drivers but still it's doing the same thing everytime when i try to connect to the internet. But when I work on the computer the computer does not hang I can work on it.
What could be the problem why it is doing when i try to connect to the internet.
I would appreciate if someone assist me.
Thanks and Regards.

A total "shot in the dark".

How much system RAM do you have?

If you have over 511MB there is a bug in the core Windows code that could cause your system to lock up.

The bug is VERY configuration dependent.

Next, what happens when you open modem properties and test the modem?

If the system locks when testing the modem, you may have a configuration problem.

Did you have a previous modem?
And, where the drivers COMPLETELY removed for the old modem?

A remnant file that loads or is called up could be the problem.

If none of the above correct the problem, please post the results of the modem diagnostic test along with the full details of your system configuration.
