Hello all!
I have a Dell Latitude D600 running WinXP using a 90W power adapter (Dell model #PA-1900-02D, DP/N 9T215a) which was running fine. After not using an adapter for a weekend, when the adapter is plugged in and system started up, get a BIOS-type error which reads “The AC Power Adapter type cannot be determined. This will prevent optimal system performance”. When Windows starts up, the power icon in the system tray reads “On AC Power” (not “charging”), and the battery level remains at 53% (doesn’t charge or discharge). Bought a new AC adapter (90W, Dell model # NADP-90KB A, P/N 9T215), and still get the same results.
Completely afraid to drain battery and try to recharge.
Thanks!
Geoff
