Acc97 - Showing query results in report

By timfox ·
I want to display a crosstab's query results in a report, without using a form. Using a form will lock in the fields that I need to display, so underlying data changes cannot be made. The query itself runs fine - but has many #Name? issues when usedwithin a form (or subreport) when values are changed because column headings (and the number of columns in the query change with the data values. Can I do this without imposing standards over the column data?

Why don't you save the results in a table; then you can use the table either in an Access report or a Crystal report.

Thanks Miss Kitty, but I'm hoping there will be an easier solution than this. I'm having the problem in the first place because column the headings will change, so even if I save the recordset as a temp table and use it for a subreport etc, the field names will need to change when the column headings change. Yes, I can get around it, with coding and re-create the wheel each time, but I'm trying not to go this way. Perhaps there is an option I've missed with cross-tab reports? Any further help is appreciated...
