acces forbidden

Haw can i block in Win 2000 proffessional instalations of several programs(icq.exe like example)or registry entry for this programs(if i know the executable)?
I want to make this thing for all users.

For most user restrictions, you want to use group policies.

I don't believe that you can limit users as to what programs they can install. Rather, you can either allow them to install programs or not install programs.

If preventing users from installing any software is too restrictive, for applications such as ICQ, all you need do, is block the port that the program uses at your router.

Use Poledit and create a group for who you want to create the restriction, go to the system tree and select, Run Only Allowed Windows Applications.
Create your list of allowed apps and implement this policy.
