I have some forms i am designing in Access 2000.They have quantity fields and i am trying to get my table to update if the same specs are entered. i have material type, size and core type and if these are the same i would like the table to combine them. i am also trying to figure out how to get my form to have and add function for inventory and debit function. Please respond with any feedback. Thank you

hi,
use unbound fields on the form, insert a button and place an onclick_event_procedure.
there check if the fields are the same. if they are, then write them to the db

if (me.type = me.size) and (me.size = me.core) then
dim db as database (set reference to dao 3.x first)
set db = currentdb
db.execute("INSERT INTO table (Yourfield) SELECT '" & YourValue & "'as Expression1")
end if

-now - only when the fields are the same, a new record is written to the db

hope that helps,
Oliver
