Access 2000 .adp Question

By lmiller ·
I have created a Access 2000 .adp Database
connecting to a SQL 7.0 DB. I created a HTML
Data Access Page. I can view it on a Windows
2000 system just fine. The Windows 2000 systems
have Access 2000 loaded on them. I try to access
this HTML Data Access Page via Windows 9x or NT
and it does not display the actual data just the
HTML (both DO NOT Access 2000 on it) . They do
have Access 97 though. Do I need to load a .DLL,
ActiveX control or something completly
different? I don't want to install Access 2000.
I will, however, add a .DLL or ActiveX control.

Thanks, Larry

Access 2000 .adp Question

I've just run up a dummy adp project and had a look at the html source of a Data Access Page and you do indeed need to add some activex controls to your non Office 2000 clients, they are the Office Web Compnents (OWC), (search for references to msowc.cab in the generate html source to confirm this) unfortunately these are licensed controls that require Office 2000 licenses on your client computers, see MSDN Article (Q243006 : Licensing the Office 2000 Web Components and Office Server Extensions) for all the gory details

Sorry for the bad news
