Access 2000 database corruption

We are using an in house designed Access 2000 database. Whenever users exit the program without using the EXIT button, (by clicking on the Access x or file EXIT) it corrupts the datbase structure. I have to copy the structure file over again. Does anyone have any input on this problem?
