Access 2000 - Removing Time

By jmdat ·
I have an Access 2000 database which uses the TIME/DATE format on two fields. I can format the display to only mm/dd/yyyy but whenever I run a query and export it to a comma delimeted, quote encapsulated text file the date appears in the same field?

How do I truncate or get rid of the date?

Do NOT use any commas inside your Format instructions other than those located within the () brackets within the report query (i.e., "Format([MyDate, "mm/dd/yyyy") or Format([MyDate], "mm/dd/yyyy") As FieldName.

Format the fields in the Select statement:

Select Format(YourDateField, "mm/dd/yyyy") As YourDateField

From ...

This will return the data already formated, instead of giving you the raw data and you formatting it just prior to display.
