Access 2000 Runtime

By ndtym ·
I want to keep the database on the network server, and just install the runtime version on the client stations, along with the appropriate icon.

I tried doing this with just the runtime install files, and it always hangs up. If I use packaging and deployment wizard then install the runtime, the runtime does install. The typical client station has Win95 or Win98, Office 97 and Novell 3.12. Any tips or suggestions?

Create a dummy .mdb to install to the client, this will get the runtime installed. In the PWD you can control what icon shortcuts get created, so just create one that points to the .mdb on the server instead of the one that's being installed.
