Access 2007 – There isn’t enough free memory

by chaver . Updated 14 years, 11 months ago

Hi
Looking around the web there appears to have been a problem with MS Access from 97 to 2003. This problem seems to still be present with 2007!
I have a report that I am outputting (Docmd.OutputTo) to a pdf file – all works fine until the Adobe Reader is displaying the report – then an Access message comes up:

There isn’t enough free memory to update the display. Close unneeded programs and try again.

This error has no error number and is not trappable! I am now running the code in debug mode – so there is nothing on the display to update. The report is produced as a pdf file and is displayed on the screen in Adobe Reader.

Has anyone any suggestions as to how to get rid of this message. Incidentally I tried running it as a Macro – same problem.

Thanks
chaver
